OVERVIEW OF MY SERVICES
These are my areas of specialty.
WHY I DO IT
I call myself light hugger because I yearn to capture light’s natural embrace upon the world.
As someone who works in the Architectural field, I have a unique perspective when it comes finding the best views of a structure.
In the beginning I would take pictures of friends and family to work on my skills. However, that wasn’t enough for me so I started volunteering with the Community Edition. At TCE, I get to meet new and interesting people every month.
This started as a way for me to practice my macro photography indoors when the weather was bad outside. With my light table, I released that I can produce magazine quality photos of just about any small item.
When I am traveling I can’t resist shooting everything I see. Doesn’t matter what it is, if I haven’t seen it before, I’m shooting it.
Fine Art Photography
There are times when I photograph things only for the mundane beauty of it. This could be a landscape or an urban setting, sometimes it’s just detail of a particular object. Usually it is the way natural light reflects or is in shadow, or the way something is highlighted in a beam of light that catches my eye. These are the uncategorized photos that I consider fine art.
Like most people my age, my first exposure to photography was with a simple point & shoot 35mm camera. However, by the early 2000’s I was able to purchase my own digital camera, a 3 megapixel Kodak. It was great, I could see what I had just taken, I could store hundreds of photos on a single card. I was like magic. But the more I got into digital photography and post processing the more I missed the magic of not knowing if my shot worked out or not. So, I started buying all types of 35mm and instant cameras to get some of that magic back. It is a great way to stay in practice with manual exposure and focus, it is a way to hone my practice that does not reward my need for instant gratification.
